Electronics Review:
Logitech C920 HD Pro Webcam

Whether you own and operate a corporate communications office like me, or you simply want a reliable mode of communications for conversing with your family and friends, nothing beats a professional-level webcam. Today, I find myself involved in Skype meetings more than ever before. Here’s the cam I rely on: the Logitech c920 HD Pro Webcam.

Listing all of the features of the c920 would be like analyzing all of the elements of a Swiss Army knife – it’s that good. It’s better to let this webcam do the talking for itself – that is, fire it up and put it to the audio and visual test. On both counts, the c920 is a terrific webcam for both business and pleasure.

Logitech includes full HD 1080p video calling (up to 1920 x 1080 pixels) with the latest version of Skype for Windows. The c920 also offers 720p HD video calling (up to 1280 x 720 pixels) with supported clients, and full HD video recording (up to 1920 x 1080 pixels) with a recommended system of QuickTime player.

What does all of this mean? Crystal clear, quick-connecting communications. Logitech Fluid Crystal technology coupled with a Carl Zeiss lens with 20-step autofocus, automatic low-light correction, face tracking and motion detection make the c920 a top performer amongst webcams in its category (MSRP $119.99).

The built-in dual stereo microphones with automatic noise reduction, plus pan, tilt and zoom controls offer performance and flexibility. The c920 – hi-speed USB 2.0 certified (USB 3.0 ready) – also boasts a tripod-ready universal clip which fits laptops, LCD or CRT monitors. I’ve attached mine to my 24-in. monitor and it performs more than admirably.

All this sounds great, but how does the Logitech stand up during a half-hour video conference? In fact, it’s an outstanding addition to my home office.

Looking for a great webcam that won’t break the bank? The Logitech c920 HD Pro Webcam is the ticket.
