Stangs Win In Windsor, Ready For OUA Championship

From the Western Mustangs:

Western sent a five-man team to Windsor for two days of competition Oct. 4-5 at the Ambassador Golf Club and The Essex Golf and Country Club.

Western’s men dominated the event playing fantastic golf on these two tough courses.

Western played Ambassador on Thursday and Essex on Friday. Both are par-71 courses.

The scores are as follows:

Tyler Nagano                   68-71–139   Gold medal as the overall winner (-3)

Joseph Burgess               75-69–144    Silver medal for the second place (+2)

Jackson Bowery              71-77–148

Charles Fitzsimmons       77-73–150

Pierce Saly                      73-79–152

Team Scores (2 Day Total) :

Western – 577 (1st Overall)

McMaster – 605 (2nd Overall)

Windsor – 617 (3rd Overall)

This is the last event before the team head to Heron Point on October 14-16 for the OUA Finals.

The Mustangs are feeling confident going in to the provincial championship and will be playing with the goal of repeating last year’s win in Ottawa.

The Western team heading to the tournament will include Fitzsimmons, Bowery, Nagano, Burgess and Mac Carter.
