Oaks 11th At OFSAA Boys’ Golf Championship

The Oakridge Oaks finished 11th at the two-day OFSAA boys’ golf championship which wrapped up today during a cold and windy round at Kingsville Golf and Country Club.

Medway Cowboys’ Ben Landers, who earlier this season captured the Junior Tyson Tour overall title, was the highest area finisher in the Open division at T29 with rounds of 79-78–157 (+13), 12 strokes behind winner Alek Mauro St. Joseph’s Lasers and Essex G&CC.

In the Individual Stroke Play division, the Oaks’ Kevin Frehner (Thames Valley GC, Highland CC) was the top area finisher with round of 80-77–157 (+13), good for T32. In the High School division, his score was good for a T4 finish.

Amongst the individual competitors who played without team representation, Landers was the area’s top finisher at T14.

The Oaks were TVRA Central and WOSSAA champions this season.

St. Michael’s College School won OFSAA gold with a team score of +29.
