Walker, Lacy Win Long Drive At Lionhead
Some Heavy Hitters Battled it out at Lionhead Golf & C.C. in the Golf Supply House Long Drive Finals with Brett Walker and George Lacy Winning their Respective Titles
(Brampton, Ont., October 23, 2012) – Cool rainy conditions and darkness didn’t seem to affect these long ball hitters at the Golf Supply House Long Drive Finals held at Lionhead Golf Club today. Professionals from the Senior, Regular and Assistant’s Divisions qualified at PGA of Ontario events all season long for an opportunity to be crowned long drive champion for 2012.
As Darkness was fast approaching one of the last competitors to hit in the regular division, Brett Walker (Hidden Lake Golf Club) unleashed a cannon that came to rest 291 yards from the tee. Walker just barely edged out Nathan Clingersmith (The Golf Club at Lora Bay) who had been holding a comfortable lead with his 290 yard drive. Rounding out the top three, finishing third was Trevor Marko (Grandview Golf Club) with a drive of 266 yards.
The winner of the senior division was George Lacy with a very respectable drive of 220 yards.
On behalf of all of the qualifiers and the winners the PGA of Ontario would like to thank Golf Supply House for their continued support of this season long competition.
