(September 27, 2012 – Burlington, ON) – Tyler Weworski of Carlsbad, CA built a four-shot lead at the Canadian Tour Fall Qualifying School Thursday, shooting a one-over 73 at Crosswinds Golf & Country Club in Burlington, ON.

Weworski made five birdies and six bogeys to sit 10-under par through 54 holes, four ahead of River Falls, WI’s Neil Johnson.

“I didn’t have my best stuff today but I hung in there and kept it in front of me,” said Weworski, who was three-under par through four holes before making four bogeys in his final seven. “I’m looking forward to resetting for tomorrow.”

Johnson, meanwhile, put together a consistent round of one birdie and one bogey for a 72 that put him alone in second place at six-under. One shot back was Andover, ME’s Evan Harmeling, who fired a two-under 70, while Joilette, QC’s Billy Houle finished a shot further behind at four-under after a 73.

The rounds of the day belonged to Waterloo, ON’s Ben Moser and Mooretown, ON’s Dan Bowling, who both shot three-under 69s. The cool, windy conditions at Crosswinds saw just two players break 70, and just 10 players break par on the par-72, 7,240-yard layout.

The top 15 players at the end of the week will receive exempt status on the Canadian Tour for 2013, while the next 15 and ties will receive non-exempt status. The current cut for exempt cards sits at three-over, while the number for non-exempt cards is eight-over.

The final round of the Fall Qualifying School well begin at 8:00 AM Friday Morning with the players going off the first tee in threesomes.
