The Ontario PGA says "Goodbye" to a Dear Friend
It is with great sadness that the Trowbridge family announces Ken's unexpected passing on Monday, May 9, 2011 at age 64. Loving husband of Mary Jane and father of Courtney and Jamie and her husband Todd. Loving son of Marguerite (nee Stevens) and the late Frederick Stanley. Brother of the late Patty and brother-in-law of Bob and Chris Gough, Liz Ptolomey and uncle to Carrie, Natalie, Tom and Ryan. Ken was a longtime member of the Canadian P.G.A. and was respected as a talented golfer and mentor to many young golf professionals. He was a devoted sports fan of the Detroit Red Wings and the Oakland Raiders. His quick wit and humourous jabs made him a unique writer for various Canadian golf publications. He was much admired for his lively spirit, kindness and generosity.
"It's a sad day with the passing of a great Canadian PGA professional, a mentor to young, aspiring professionals and somebody who did so much for the association and the game of golf," said Dustin Kerr-Taylor, President of the Ontario PGA.
The family will be having visiting hours on Friday between 2 - 4 and 7-9 at Turner Porter Funeral Home. The address is 4933 Dundas ST West (Butler Chapel) http://www.turnerporter.ca/page-locations.html
The services will be held on Saturday at St Gregory's at 122 Rathburn Rd in Etobicoke at 9:30 am.
