Where does time go?
It is hard to believe that in 1983 our beloved Heather began as a part-time secretary for George Clifton at our old office back at Yonge and Finch. This was where Heather learned the ins and outs of our Association, how we work, who we are, and what we are about. Heather would eventually start her leadership role as Director in 1998 and she would never look back.
Thus it is with great sadness that I announce to you that Heather Howell, has decided to retire at the conclusion of the 2011 season.
Heather has been a mainstay at the Ontario PGA office for 28 years and in my opinion has been the main reason our Association has been financially stable throughout her tenure as Director of Operations. Her attention to detail and her ability to manage people effectively has made her an indispensable member of our staff and one that will be sorely missed by our members and partners alike.
It is often said that all good things must come to an end and this rings true with Heather's imminent departure. 28 years is a long time with one organization and an impressive feat that will be difficult to match.
On behalf of the entire membership I want to wish Heather and her husband Bill nothing but the very best. Heather has been a tremendous asset to our Association and its members and I know she will be missed.
