London Ontario Golf Supports 4th Annual Walter Gretzky CNIB Golf Classic


LONDON, ONT (March 24, 2009) – London Ontario Golf, London & Southwestern Ontario’s Online Golf Resource, is proud to announce its support of the 4th Annual Walter Gretzky CNIB Golf Classic.

This year’s charity tournament will be held on Friday, June 19 at FireRock Golf Club in Komoka. There are numerous sponsorship opportunities available at many different levels. Golfer registration costs $200 per person.

London Ontario Golf, celebrating a 5th season, is a project stemming from editor Jeffrey Reed. An avid, low-handicap golfer, Reed, 47, is a physically challenged athlete. This golf season, Reed is including a Tiger clubhead cover from Daphne’s Headcovers in Phoenix, Arizona as a reminder to golfers that they should support the charities of their choice.

“We all face unique challenges in life. Carrying the Tiger clubhead cover is my way to offer a visible example of what you can accomplish in life, not matter what the odds, and that we all should support local charities. London Ontario Golf is proud to now support the CNIB, and the Walter Gretzky CNIB Golf Classic,” says Reed.

“We are very grateful for the support from London Ontario Golf for this year’s tournament, and we’re looking forward to another successful event this June,” says Loralyn Smith, Associate, Community Development, CNIB.

Registration for this year’s charity tournament begins at 10 a.m., followed by a BBQ lunch. A shotgun start is slated for 12 noon. Many great items will be included at this year’s silent and live auctions, and each golfer will receive a gift package. Winning foursomes will also receive special gifts. Hole sponsorship starts at just $250. There are still a number of sponsorship opportunities available!
